First, I want to wish all my readers a great 2011. Next, here is what the winter fantasy landscape from the previous post ended up like: (ArtRage, postadjusted in Photoshop)

Between Snow and Sky, 2011 (digital)

Drew these two quick studies on the commuter train the other day (0.7 HB pencil):
Yesterday I followed a tutorial by Maria Ginzburg on how to paint a monochromatic landscape in watercolor. Ended up with this piece:
Where Brownies Tread (2009)
The other day I did a sketch for the "30 minute sketch" thread at the
ImagineFX forum.
As the topic was "A LOTR scene", I did my own improvized version of the duel between Gandalf and the Balrog in the Mines of Moria.

Have finally finished my owl piece. An entry for the July 2009 Challenge "Welch Mix 'n Match" where you were supposed to paint a character choosing an
Adjective ("thoughtful")
Animal ("owl")
Occupation ("lighthouse-keeper")
This is what it ended up like (Done in ArtRage 2,5 Full, click for full view):

Finished another pencil drawing yesterday. Another no ref tree, hope you'll like it.

Elementaria (2009)
The next one was painted for the May "Comic hero/heroine" Challenge at ImagineFX. It's an original character that I called "Barbarianne".

Barbarianne (2009)
Next painting is one I made as an assignment for a workshop online (thanks, Carly!). It's inspired by a text about a person walking through a forest. I took the title from the second line of Dante's inferno:
Midway upon the journey of our life
I found myself within a forest dark,
For the straightforward pathway had been lost.
(translation by Longfellow)
Within a forest (2009)
